| At least I have the Internet... |

The train may be hateful and slow and never on-time these days, but there's at least one good thing: I have the Internet on my PC throughout my journey.
Not only that, but it works well, too. I tether my BlackBerry Curve to my new PowerBook G4 (thanks, work!) via Bluetooth. And despite my dislike of the protocol, it seems to work well--although every once in a blue moon while tethered, the phone spontaneously reboots.
And unlike the other wireless carriers (AT&T springs to mind), Verizon Wireless has super-fast EV-DO and no dead spots. AT&T (especially EDGE iPhone) users: Stick that in your hair and rub it.
In fact, I'm on the train right now, posting this entry. We're just pulling up to the Pompano Beach station. |

As far as EV-DO goes, (and it may just be in my head) Sprint's network seems faster, but yes, VZW is NOT the ughslow worse than dialup EDGE.
EV-DO is, by the numbers, several times faster than that and can reach almost DSL-like speeds depending on where you are.
