Ask and ye shall receive, as the old adage goes. Well, I asked, and I have received a new (to me) Apple 15" PowerBook G4.
My new 15" PowerMac G4
It's really neat, although, I must admit, it came to me in a somewhat beleaguered state. A few keys on the keyboard were broken, and the power supply was all beat up. Both of those problems were solved with an trip to the Apple store across the way from my house. They had a few "keyboard graveyards" from which I was able to pluck replacement keys and affix them to my keyboard (a trick in itself, one I had learned long ago out of necessity). I also picked up a new power supply while there, and did so on the company nickel (it is a company machine, after all).
Here are its specs:
It also has an 80gb hard drive, too.
I've already installed Office for the Mac and in the coming weeks will install Microsoft Virtual PC, since the thing has the horses to handle it. |

You don't want Virtual PC. You want VMWare or Parallels, leaning towards Parallels. http://www.macworld.com/article/55484/2007/02/vmwarevsparallels.html (http://www.macworld.com/article/55484/2007/02/vmwarevsparallels.html) | |
