Stranded at the god-damned motherfucking station AGAIN thanks to the incompetent boobs at Tri-Rail. Signal problems stopped ALL the trains. Fuck. |

Just wondering what your employers have to say about your chronic lateness, even though it's through no fault of your own. Do they encourage alternative (to driving) transportation? Are your hours flexible enough so you can make up for the errant habits of the rail system? Hope so. This Tri-Rail malfunctioning is happening waaay too often. I wonder how they stay in business.
They encourage alternate transportation inasmuch as they are members of the Tri-Rail Employer Discount Program. Fortunately, my hours are extremely flexible. I can only imagine the poor folks whose hours are not extremely flexible.
I've floated the idea of a vanpool here at work many times without any success.
A fair number of students go to school on Tri-Rail. I would imagine the schools take a dim view of Tri-Rail's unreliability.
Back in the day, I contemplated using the trains and buses to get to work on Dodge Island in Miami. It would have taken 2-1/2 to 3 hours, each way, and I could never be sure of making my connections between Tri-Rail and Metro-Rail. Then there was the People Mover in Miami. The vaguaries of the whole system made it just too iffy. My bosses would NOT have been amused.
Mass transportation in this part of the world sucks. What with this being New York South, you'd think they'd be able to figure a way to make the trains run on time, the way they do in New York, wouldn't you? I mean, isn't EVERYTHING better in NY? 8-P | |
