Sad moments [Jul. 25th, 2008|06:22 pm]

They say that you need the sad moments in your life. You have to have sad moments in your life, they say, because if you don't experience sadness, then you have nothing to compare happiness with--and without a basis of comparison, how would you know they're happy?

It's not hard to remember that at times like this. It is far harder, however, to take solace in that sentiment at times like this.

The reverse is also true. Some people avoid true happiness for fear of losing it and experiencing sadness and grief. They never truly live, if you ask me. You have to figure that the highs are worth the lows in order to appreciate happiness.

Whatever is going on must be one of those lows. Take comfort in having someone dear to help you through it, back to the heights.

Thinking of you. *pats your shoulder*
